We are seeking an experienced and motivated PSV Technician to join a busy engineering team in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to play a key role in maintaining a modern fleet of buses and coaches, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant and ready for service.
Working within a professional workshop environment, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections, servicing, diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance across the fleet, helping to minimise downtime and maximise vehicle reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on buses and coaches.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
- Complete MOT preparation, safety inspections and vehicle defect rectification.
- Repair and replace components including brakes, suspension, steering, driveline, engines and gearboxes.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults efficiently.
- Accurately complete job cards, maintenance records and workshop documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with DVSA regulations and vehicle safety standards.
- Support breakdown recovery and urgent vehicle repairs when required.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maximise fleet availability and minimise downtime.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a PSV Mechanic, PSV Technician, Bus Mechanic, HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
- NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Good understanding of DVSA regulations and vehicle safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- PCV Licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Positive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
