Consultant Psychiatrist – Adult ADHD & Autism Assessments
Remote | Flexible Hours | Contract for Services
Oxford Psychiatry Group is seeking experienced Consultant Psychiatrists to undertake remote adult ADHD and autism assessments for individuals referred through NHS pathways and private referrals.
You will join a supportive multidisciplinary service, working collaboratively with qualified nurses and consultant clinicians through established, NICE-aligned assessment pathways.
The Role
Depending on your experience and agreed scope of practice, your work may include:
- Comprehensive psychiatric and developmental assessments
- ADHD and autism assessments in adults
- Diagnostic formulation and differential diagnosis
- Assessment of co-existing mental and physical health conditions
- Mental state, risk and safeguarding assessments
- Review of collateral information and validated assessment measures
- Multidisciplinary case discussions
- Diagnostic decision-making and report sign-off
- Providing feedback, recommendations and appropriate signposting
- ADHD treatment planning and prescribing, where agreed and within your authorised scope of practice

ADI-R and ADOS-2 training is desirable but not essential.

About You
Applicants should:
- Hold current GMC registration and a licence to practise
- Have appropriate adult psychiatry, ADHD and autism assessment experience
- Be confident assessing complex presentations, differential diagnoses and co-existing conditions
- Have strong clinical documentation, risk-management and safeguarding skills
- Hold appropriate professional indemnity
- Meet applicable DBS, safeguarding and right-to-work requirements
Specific clinical activities, including prescribing, will be agreed according to each doctor's qualifications, experience and authorised scope of practice.
