This role helps people using the Specialist Weight Management Service by providing practical psychological support that can improve wellbeing and recovery.

You’ll work with people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, using low intensity, cognitive behavioural therapy based approaches. You’ll be part of a supportive service that values clear communication, safe care and respect for each person’s needs, background and goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Support people to manage their mental health and recovery using guided self-help and other evidence-based tools
  • Assess referrals, agree care plans and review progress in line with service guidance
  • Keep clear clinical records and use outcome information to support safe decisions
  • Work closely with colleagues and other services to support stepped care
  • Use supervision and feedback to develop your practice

What We’re Looking For

You’ll have a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner qualification through an accredited training course, or be a qualified Graduate Mental Health Worker with relevant primary care experience. You’ll understand mild to moderate mental health problems and have experience supporting people with mental health needs. We welcome transferable skills, reflective practice and a commitment to respectful, inclusive care.
