Role Description

The Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner at Second Nature will provide structured, evidence-based psychological support to users through the company’s digital platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Delivering brief interventions
  • Guiding users through behavior change programs
  • Monitoring psychological wellbeing
  • Responding to user messages with timely, compassionate, and practical guidance

The role involves assessing mental health needs, identifying risk, and signposting or escalating appropriately while collaborating with clinical and product teams to improve user journeys and content. Practitioners will also contribute to developing and refining protocols, educational materials, and in-app resources that support healthy weight management and emotional wellbeing. This is a full-time, remote role that requires consistent availability during agreed working hours and effective collaboration within a distributed team.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Mental Health, Mental Health Care, and Community Mental Health, with the ability to support individuals experiencing mild to moderate psychological difficulties.
  • Academic and practical background in Psychology, including familiarity with behavior change models and evidence-based interventions such as CBT-informed approaches.
  • Experience in Social Work or related fields, demonstrating skills in safeguarding, risk assessment, and connecting individuals with appropriate community or clinical resources.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in psychology, mental health, social work, counseling, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience delivering remote or digital psychological support, with excellent written communication and ability to convey empathy and clarity in text-based interactions.
  • Strong assessment, formulation, and record-keeping skills, with attention to confidentiality, data protection, and ethical practice standards.
  • Comfort working with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment; openness to feedback and continuous professional development.
  • Registration with or eligibility for a relevant professional body (e.g., psychological, counseling, or social work organizations) is highly beneficial.
