Band 7 1.0wte Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist
We are looking for a Band 7 1.0wte Clinical/ Counselling psychologist to work in our Sutton hospital site in our ‘directive’ pathway (e.g. CBT/ ACT/ CFT approaches. EMDR would be a plus). As well as inpatient and outpatient work, this role will also include supervision to nurses/AHPs within the trust and service development.
You will be joining a supportive and friendly team of qualified and trainee psychological practitioners from across a range of clinical backgrounds, including counselling, psychology (clinical and counselling), psychosexual therapy, psychotherapy, psychiatry and mental health nursing. There is excellent internal and external CPD provision.

Role Overview
To work within our ‘directive’ pathway providing structured therapies such as CBT/ ACT/ CFT (our other pathways are: exploratory, family, TYA, psychosexual and psychiatry/ mental health nursing).

Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high quality specialist clinical/ counselling psychologist/CBT therapy service to adult cancer patients within the context of the Adult Psychological Support Service, including assessment and evidence based interventions associated with the complex physical and psychological impacts of a cancer diagnosis.
- Work autonomously, within professional guidelines, code of conduct and the overall framework of the team/trust policies and procedures.
- Provide specialist advice and consultation on patients’ psychological care to colleagues through psychosocial meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings and attendance at clinics if appropriate.
- Utilize research skills for audit, policy and development of psychological services for patients with cancer.
