Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Thatcham
Pay: £90.00 - £105.00/day

Have you recently graduated with a Psychology degree and want to gain meaningful experience supporting young people? Are you interested in understanding how psychology can be applied to education, behaviour and additional needs?
A specialist school in Thatcham is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. The school provides a structured and supportive environment for pupils with a range of additional needs and is committed to helping every student make progress.
Working as a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils both academically and pastorally, helping them engage with lessons and develop their confidence and independence. You will work alongside Teachers and experienced support staff to provide consistent and personalised support.

Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Working with pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
- Encouraging positive relationships and communication
- Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
- Supporting classroom activities and individual learning tasks
- Promoting independence and confidence
- Working collaboratively with Teachers and wider SEN staff
Requirements
The school is looking for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant who is patient, observant and genuinely interested in supporting children and young people. You should be comfortable working with pupils who may communicate or behave differently and be willing to adapt your approach to meet individual needs.
