Psychology Teacher (GCSE and A-Level)

Are you a passionate educator with a deep interest in the human mind? We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Psychology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school department in Brixham. If you are ready to hit the ground running and inspire students, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Role Overview

As a Psychology Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons to students at both GCSE and A-Level. This is a full-time, temporary/supply position starting immediately, running through to October half-term with a potential for extension. You will take on full teaching responsibilities, ensuring that every student is supported in their academic journey.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-standard Psychology lessons aligned with the curriculum specification.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to foster growth.
  • Create a positive, well-managed classroom environment that encourages critical discussion and learning.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students across various ability levels.
  • Prepare learners effectively for upcoming assessments and examinations.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to ongoing curriculum support.

Qualifications

  • QTS / QTLS is essential (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Proven experience teaching Psychology at GCSE and A-Level.
  • Experience with major UK exam boards (such as AQA, Edexcel, or OCR) is desirable.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for the social sciences.
  • Ability to commence duties immediately with minimal transition.
  • Must possess an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or be willing for one immediately.
