The Nest Club Clinical Standard

We want The Nest Club to be known for the quality, depth and experience of its therapists. We are looking for therapists who feel passionately about making change in this space.

You will be:

• QUALIFIED & PROFESSIONALLY REGISTERED/ACCREDITED Fully qualified and appropriately registered or accredited with BACP, UKCP, HCPC, BPS, BABCP, COSRT, NCPS or another recognised professional body.

• EXPERIENCED We are ideally looking for therapists with a minimum of three years' post-qualification clinical experience and evidence of thoughtful, established clinical practice.

• SPECIALIST You should have demonstrable experience in at least one area relevant to The Nest Club's work. Additional specialist training is particularly welcomed, including qualifications or training in couples therapy, systemic/family therapy, fertility counselling, perinatal mental health, psychosexual therapy, trauma, loss, separation and divorce, and reproductive mental health.

• RELATIONAL Qualifications matter, but so does how you sit with another human being. We're looking for therapists who are warm, curious, emotionally intelligent and able to build genuine therapeutic relationships online. People who can listen deeply, tolerate complexity and combine empathy with appropriate challenge.

• INCLUSIVE & CULTURALLY CONSCIOUS Our clients have different identities, relationships, cultures, histories and ways of creating and being a family. We expect therapists to practise with cultural humility and an understanding of the ways identity, sexuality, gender, race, culture, socioeconomic circumstances and wider systems can shape people's experiences.

• SAFE & ETHICAL You will work within the ethical framework of your professional body, maintain regular external clinical supervision and practise within your competencies.

• REFLECTIVE We want therapists who remain curious about their work and themselves. Ongoing supervision, CPD and professional development are fundamental to good psychotherapy.

The Role

As a Nest Club therapist, you will:

• Deliver high-quality online psychotherapy/counselling to individuals, couples and/or families within your areas of competence
• Develop strong, thoughtful therapeutic relationships with clients
• Work autonomously and be comfortable working with online video call platforms
• Manage your availability and diary reliably
• Maintain your own external clinical supervision
• Liaise appropriately with other professionals where necessary to safeguard client wellbeing
• Follow The Nest Club's safeguarding, risk, confidentiality and clinical governance procedures
• Contribute to a culture of reflection, learning and excellent clinical care

Practical Requirements

You will need:

• Appropriate professional registration/accreditation
• Professional indemnity/public liability insurance
• Enhanced DBS clearance, or willingness to obtain this
• Evidence of appropriate external clinical supervision
• Right to work and practise in the UK
• Appropriate safeguarding knowledge and training
• Confidence working therapeutically online
• A private, confidential and professional environment from which to conduct sessions
• Strong digital, administrative and diary-management skills
• Two professional references

What We Offer

• A specialist practice - you're joining a psychotherapy practice with a clear clinical focus rather than being another therapist on a large directory.
• Work remotely and manage your availability around your existing practice and commitments.
• £40 / £50 per session
• Freelance sessional work with clients referred through The Nest Club.
• Clients and marketing - We invest in marketing, partnerships, PR and professional referral relationships to bring appropriate clients to the practice, allowing you to concentrate on the therapeutic work.
• Expert marketing and profiling - We actively profile our therapists and their areas of expertise through The Nest Club's website, content, partnerships, PR and wider marketing.

A Particular Kind of Therapist

The Nest Club is growing. We want therapists who are interested not simply in receiving referrals, but in helping us build an exceptional modern psychotherapy practice. Ultimately, we're looking for people who care deeply about doing good therapy. People who understand that expertise and humanity aren't opposites. Who know their theory but don't hide behind jargon. Who can sit with grief, anger, ambivalence, shame, love, resentment and uncertainty without rushing to make them disappear. Who understand that relationships change. That becoming parents can bring people closer together or expose cracks that were already there. That loving someone doesn't always mean a relationship can continue. That separation and divorce can contain grief, relief, fear and hope all at once. That ending a relationship doesn't necessarily end a family. That learning to co-parent, rebuilding a life or creating a blended family can require just as much emotional support as creating a family in the first place. And who understand that desperately wanting a baby doesn't make fertility treatment any less brutal; that loving your children doesn't mean you can't miss who you were before them; and that relationships and families rarely fit neatly into boxes.
