Key Purpose

Reporting to the PTP Transactions & Reporting Manager, the PTP Transactions Supervisor leads a team of PTP Associates ensuring the efficient delivery of all PTP activities through effective workload management, performance oversight, and team support. As a subject matter expert, the role provides guidance on PTP processes, ensuring supplier invoices, queries, and transactional activities are completed accurately, on time, and in line with agreed controls and service levels. The supervisor drives continuous improvement, promotes a right-first-time culture, and identifies opportunities to enhance processes and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of PTP Associates, managing day-to-day activities and performance.
  • Allocate and prioritise workloads to ensure invoices, queries, and transactions are processed accurately and within agreed service levels.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for Purchase-to-Pay processes and systems.
  • Monitor team productivity, quality, and KPI performance, taking corrective action where required.
  • Ensure compliance with Group policies, procedures, financial controls, and audit requirements.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and resolution of supplier and stakeholder queries.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying process inefficiencies and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Apply LEAN principles to optimise workflows, improve service delivery, and eliminate waste.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Support training, onboarding, and development of team members to enhance capability and performance.
  • Produce and analyse operational performance reports, identifying trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure all activities are completed accurately and "right first time" while delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Responsible for 5 direct reports, with additional responsibility for providing supervisory cover during the absence of other PTP Supervisors.
  • Accountable for maintaining continuity of service and ensuring workload completion during team member absences.
  • Supports the processing and resolution of high-volume PTP transactions, including supplier invoices and queries across multiple business units.
  • Monitors and manages team performance against agreed KPIs, SLAs, and quality targets
  • Responsible for the allocation and prioritisation of workloads to ensure business-critical activities are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Acts as an escalation point for complex supplier and stakeholder issues, ensuring prompt resolution and minimising operational risk.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable efficiencies, quality improvements, and enhanced customer service outcomes

  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and support high-performing teams.
  • Strong SAP knowledge, with proven experience within a Purchase-to-Pay (PTP) finance environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end PTP process within a Shared Services organisation.
  • Excellent customer service focus, with a commitment to delivering a positive stakeholder and supplier experience.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels, actively listen, and encourage collaboration.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.

  • Results-oriented mindset, with the ability to prioritise critical tasks and consistently deliver against objectives.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, and problem-solving capabilities.
