Sunville Rail Limited is recruiting PTS Operatives to support our ongoing and upcoming railway infrastructure projects.
We are looking for reliable, safety-focused individuals who are keen to develop their careers within the rail industry. Ideally, applicants will be based in or around the Eastbourne area to integrate into one of our existing delivery teams.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Valid PTS and COSS certification
- Rail, construction or labouring experience preferred
- Full UK driving licence desirable, but not essential
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to undertake night and weekend working when required
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out works safely, efficiently and in accordance with project programmes, method statements, risk assessments and health & safety requirements.
- Undertake works as instructed by the Site Supervisor and fulfil all responsibilities assigned.
- Carry out a variety of railway civils and route works across the rail infrastructure.
- Follow all site briefings, safe systems of work and project-specific procedures.
- Ensure hazardous or dangerous substances are used and handled in accordance with established procedures and COSHH requirements.
- Wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and report or request replacements where equipment is no longer fit for purpose.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors and other members of the site team.
- Follow project-specific emergency procedures where required.
- Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences to the Site Supervisor/Manager.
- Promote a positive safety culture through your own actions and encourage safe working practices among colleagues.
- Ensure you fully understand all site and task briefings. Raise questions immediately where information is unclear or could affect your own safety or the safety of others.
- Where driving company vehicles, comply with all company driver requirements and FORS Silver standards.
- Be available for night, weekend and possession working as required by the project.
