From assessments and health services to employability programmes and specialist support, we do work that matters with people who care.
The Public Affairs Lead will deliver ongoing public affairs contact and engagement programme for MPs, MSPs, MSs and other relevant political stakeholders. This role will also support the Senior Public Affairs and Policy Manager with the delivering of the Public Affairs Plan by attending meetings, recording and evaluating engagement, and monitoring/coordinating membership body activity. Team lead on political monitoring.
Salary - £45,000 - £49,000
This role is home based, but will require travel to meetings and events (as a guide, this could be once a week, but could vary).

Accountability
- Work with teams across the business to deliver public affairs campaigns to position our business, launch new services, argue for policy change and/or support growth and diversification 25%
- Plan and attend meetings and visits with political stakeholders, raising awareness of our organisations and improving understanding of the programmes and services we deliver. Communicate key messages effectively and work with teams to ensure smooth and effective planning and delivery 25%
- Lead on political monitoring, collating relevant political events and policy announcements, drafting briefings, policy papers and summaries to senior internal stakeholders 20%
- Work with team members to deliver events, including party conference fringes, stakeholder roundtables, online events, PR opportunities and visits 10%
- Evaluation and governance: record political engagement activity and work with membership bodies across the business as part of ongoing governance and evaluation activity 10%

Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in a public affairs role or working in parliament, a government department or think tank
- Experience of drafting briefings and policy papers, distilling complex topics into clear information and recommendations
- Experience of engaging with politicians and officials
- Degree or equivalent qualification
Individual Competencies
- Strong copywriting skills
- Strong understanding of political institutions and the workings of Parliament and Whitehall
- An eye for detail, producing high quality content for different audiences
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Work collaboratively, including with senior internal stakeholders and commissioners
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
