What you will be doing, in roles we place
- Monitoring Parliament, Whitehall and the devolved administrations for developments relevant to the organisation.
- Briefing senior colleagues, trustees or clients clearly and on deadline.
- Building and maintaining relationships with MPs, Peers, civil servants and special advisers.
- Drafting consultation responses, briefings and correspondence that get read.
- Supporting campaigns that combine public affairs with communications and policy work.
What clients are looking for
- Experience in a public affairs, policy, campaigns or political role — in-house, agency, Parliament or party.
- A genuine understanding of how Westminster and Whitehall work, and how decisions actually get made.
- Excellent written English: the ability to make a complicated issue simple, and a simple issue persuasive.
- Sound judgement, discretion and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders.
