Working Arrangements: Hybrid Working, 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH

Hours per week: 37

About The Post

As Public Health Intelligence Manager, you will lead the specialist Public Health Intelligence function within the Public Health Business Unit. You will provide professional leadership across public health analysis, epidemiology, data insight and evidence-based advice, ensuring intelligence informs the JSNA, neighbourhood health planning, prevention, health inequalities, health protection and commissioning. You will manage a small team and work closely with the Council’s Business Intelligence team, NHS, UKHSA, ICB, Council and voluntary sector partners to align data use, avoid duplication and support better outcomes for residents.

About You

We’re looking for someone with substantial experience in public health intelligence, population health or a related analytical field. You will be confident applying epidemiological, statistical and analytical methods to complex datasets, producing your own high-quality analysis and quality assuring the work of others. You will also be able to turn complex data and evidence into clear insight, practical recommendations and action for senior leaders and partners.

You will need a degree in a related discipline and either a Level 7 qualification in a relevant subject, such as public health, epidemiology, statistics or social sciences, or substantial equivalent specialist experience.

A strong understanding of public health data governance, confidentiality and the responsible use of sensitive information is essential.

The role includes line management responsibility for a small team of analysts. We’re looking for someone who can support others, set priorities and lead complex specialist projects that deliver high-quality public health intelligence outputs.
