We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Public Health Practitioner to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of Wiltshire’s residents. This is an opportunity to influence population health outcomes, reduce inequalities, and help develop innovative approaches that support individuals, families, and communities affected by gambling harms. You will work with a wide range of partners to develop and deliver evidence-based interventions that improve health and wellbeing outcomes and support those most at risk.
The role will focus on raising awareness of gambling harms, promoting early identification and intervention, strengthening local pathways of support, and reducing the wider social, financial, and health impacts associated with harmful gambling. You will also contribute to broader work programs relating to mental wellbeing, emotional resilience, suicide prevention, and co-existing challenges such as substance use.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
