Austin Public Health is currently recruiting for a number of public health positions, including temporary, general & grant-funded positions, and internship opportunities. Join a team dedicated to improving community health, advancing health equity, and supporting programs that make a meaningful impact.

Opportunities may be available in areas such as:

  • Disease Prevention Health Promotion
  • Environmental Health Services
  • Epidemiology and Public Health Emergency Preparedness
  • Health Equity and Community Engagement
  • Office of the Medical Director
  • Policy, Planning & Research

Location

Multiple locations in Austin and Across Travis County

General Work Schedule

Monday – Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Hours may vary due to position type and operational needs. Evenings and weekends may be required on occasion, especially during an emergency response.

Grant Funded Position

Temporary positions and internships may be grant-funded, meaning its financial support comes from allocated funds that may be modified, reduced, or canceled at the discretion of the City of Austin or the grant provider.
