Purpose of the Role

To manage a mixed caseload of public law and human rights claims, representing vulnerable individuals against government actions and public authorities, particularly in cases involving human rights violations.

Key Responsibilities

  • To conduct a mixed caseload of public law cases at all stages of the process from pre-action stage through to trial.
  • Manage legally aided matters and ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements.
  • Participation in the development, marketing, and success of the team including building relationships with our existing referrers in the region and developing relationships with new referral sources.
  • Contributing to success of the team through participation in team meetings and knowledge building and sharing.
  • Meeting deadlines and prioritising work effectively.

Key Requirements

  • Must be a Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
  • Demonstrated experience handling public law Judicial review matters, community care judicial reviews, or claims against public authorities.
  • Demonstrated experience of conducting publicly funded matters and detailed knowledge of Legal Aid.
  • Excellent client care skills and ability to work with vulnerable clients.
