THE ROLE AND YOUR IMPACT AT DOTT

Location: London, Nottingham, Newcastle, or Remote in any city in the UK with the ability to travel.

Availability to travel: Day trips within the UK (3 -4 times a month)

We're looking for a Public Policy Manager to support our growth in the UK and strengthen our relationships with key stakeholders, including Central Government, Cities and community partners. This role combines high-level institutional relationship-building with hands-on, detail-oriented execution — from shaping public policy conversations, producing accurate, on-time contributions to tenders and reports, and developing policy-led strategies for growing the service. The ideal candidate is as comfortable building trust with a mayor's office as they are proofreading a document the night before a deadline.

The Public Policy Manager will report to the Head of Public Policy UK/Ireland and can be based in any UK city, with preference for London, Nottingham, or Newcastle, with travel frequently across the country.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with government officials, including DfT, MPs, cities and other external stakeholders, positioning Dott as a reliable and trusted operator.
  • Manage relationships and contracts in Dott’s existing markets, working cross-functionally with operations to help make key decisions on service delivery.
  • Own Dott’s contribution to the tender application process end-to-end: defining Dott's strategic positioning, drafting accurate and timely local content, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks ahead of submission deadlines
  • Identify and prioritise expansion opportunities in the UK, and build Dott’s positioning and knowledge of local communities and their priorities
  • Support the users and the city's satisfaction, working with local operations teams on concrete improvement plans
  • Contribute to building a lasting network of partnerships around Dott, in support of the wider team's goals
  • Strategically shape market regulations in line with best-in-class standards
  • Represent Dott at public policy-related local events
  • Research and monitor the political and regulatory landscape in the UK, turning it into clear, actionable reporting for internal stakeholders

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
