About us

Tin Man is an earned first, creative comms agency offering everything from brand consultancy to creative activations, media relations to social media management, content to experiential. All of our work is designed to create powerful, emotional connections between brands and audiences.

Tin Man’s ‘communications with heart’ approach has helped change behaviour, challenge perceptions, increase brand equity and enhance bottom lines for household brands including Virgin Atlantic, Cadbury, OREO, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, Hilton, Vodafone, Dunelm, Tesco and Cafédirect.

The Role

Account Managers at Tin Man are essential in ensuring our client account teams run smoothly, campaigns/press offices are managed effectively and drive programs across multiple clients, honing their skills as both a people and client manager. Clients trust you, not just as a ‘safe pair of hands’ who gets things done, but as a consultant who thinks ahead and who understands their business objectives.

Ultimately, we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in PR, ideally in the consumer lifestyle, Entertainment or FMCG sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with extensive experience writing creative and eye-catching press releases.
  • Existing relevant media contacts within the consumer industry is desirable.
  • Day to day campaign management and managing junior members of the team.

Skills & Experience

  • Great attention to detail and organisational skills, being able to juggle lots of different actions day-to-day across varying accounts
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to adapt writing to suit different audiences
  • Passion for media relations with great media contacts and understanding of the media landscape
  • Experience working with talent/ influencers / their agents including the briefing process
  • Good understanding of the influencer landscape, influencer marketing channels and media strategy including sell-ins and driving outreach
  • Aptitude for building client relations that comes from experience being client-facing – including an understanding of how to manage tricky client situations
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills at every level, and a high regard for confidentiality when needed
  • Creative thinking skills to identify proactive ideas, newsjacking opportunities, press office tactics and influencer activations.
  • Strong IT skills across Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint – we use MacBooks at Tin Man
  • Experience working on both big, multi-layered brand campaigns as well as running press offices. Experience with news generation campaigns is preferable (including crafting research questions, managing radio days)
  • Agency environments can be fast-paced and full-on, so the ability to work well under pressure and previous experience working in a fast-paced, agency environment (or similar) is essential
