The team
Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking, and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients.
The PR and Communications team manages Payward & Kraken’s reputation and oversees all aspects of the external communications strategy and execution globally.
The opportunity
Manager, Pro Trading & Derivatives Communications
The Manager of Pro Trading, Institutional & Derivatives Communications will inspire and support the team responsible for building and executing communications programs in support of Payward’s product strategy and Kraken's products and services targeted at professional traders, derivatives users, and institutions globally.
- Develop and execute an integrated external communications strategy aligned to Kraken's key business goals aimed at advancing the company's brand with key stakeholders across the pro trading, derivatives, and institutional segments.
- Develop strategies that expand Kraken's thought leadership positioning across professional and institutional client segments and work with the team in executing and expanding reach to new audiences through unique approaches to storytelling around trading products, risk management, and market infrastructure.
- Develop and expand Kraken's bench of spokespeople in pro trading and derivatives, including building out key strategic messaging at the executive, product, and segment level that resonates with traders, fund managers, and institutional decision-makers.
- Prepare communications materials including company announcements, talking points, media statements, speaker submissions, pitches, and briefing materials tailored to professional and institutional audiences.
- Build connectivity with multiple stakeholders including institutional partners, trading desks, market data providers, the communications team, and key external agencies serving the pro/institutional space.
- Bring social media first thinking to media relations and content, with particular attention to platforms and channels where professional traders and institutions gather.

What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree required along with 7+ years of proven experience leading and executing communications programs and initiatives, crypto experience preferred.
- Highly proactive, determined, and results-driven.
- Outstanding writing, editing, and communications strategy skills. A hands-on contributor with an ability to translate complex topics and capture the views and voices of senior leaders.
- Experience working with a geographically dispersed workforce and managing complex communications challenges.
- Experience working directly with executives to enhance executive presence, deliver strong messaging, and improve presentation/interview skills.
- A team player with a track record of success delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and scaling communications teams.
- Knowledgeable and passionate about the crypto industry.
