About this Role
We are seeking an experienced Public Relations and Media Communications professional to lead VOIS’ external marketing communications and earned media strategy. Based in London and reporting to the Customer Communications Lead, this role will drive awareness, credibility and commercial reputation among prospects and customers through strategic media engagement, thought leadership, compelling content and market positioning initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping VOIS’ external voice, collaborating with internal stakeholders and agency partners to deliver measurable business impact.
What you’ll do
- Own the development and execution of VOIS’ external marketing communications and public relations strategy, targeting prospects and customers.
- Determine annual media priorities, campaign focus areas and communications investment recommendations.
- Act as the senior communications advisor on earned media and external market positioning against competitors.
- Manage the external communications agency, setting priorities, reviewing outputs and measuring performance against agreed objectives and KPIs.
- Lead planning and delivery of the annual earned media programme, maintaining a consistent cadence of proactive media activity throughout the year.
- Identify, develop and drive newsworthy content, announcements, customer stories and thought leadership opportunities that enhance VOIS’ visibility and credibility with customers.
- Create and commission thought leadership content for customer audiences, including opinion articles, reports, commentary, executive by-lines and media materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key technology, business and industry media, working through agency partners and directly where appropriate.
- Develop briefing materials, messaging frameworks, media narratives and spokesperson preparation materials.
- Identify and coordinate commentary opportunities aligned to breaking news, industry trends and market developments.
- Support executive participation in media opportunities where directly linked to communications programmes and business priorities for customer growth.
- Monitor competitor activity, industry discussion and media trends to identify opportunities and risks for the VOIS brand.
- Collaborate with Vodafone Business, Vodafone Group and wider communications teams to ensure alignment of external positioning and messaging when targeting customers and prospects.
- Work closely with marketing, digital, commercial and service tower stakeholders to ensure communications activity supports broader business objectives.
- Manage communication budgets, agency costs, reporting and performance measurement, providing recommendations for optimisation.
- Deliver regular reporting on media impact, share of voice, coverage quality, sentiment, thought leadership performance and business outcomes.

Who you are
- Significant experience in public relations and B2B communications, ideally within technology, managed services or telecommunications environments.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing earned media and thought leadership programmes.
- Exceptional writing, editing and content development skills.
- Strong media relations expertise with a proven ability to secure impactful coverage and build journalist relationships across UK and international publications.
- Ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders and provide strategic communications guidance.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to connect communications activity with business outcomes.
- Excellent presentation, planning and project management capabilities.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- Experience measuring earned media performance and communications effectiveness.
- Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills.
- Minimum of 9+ years’ experience in public relations.
- Desirable: Experience with LinkedIn advertising programmes.
