Head of Public Sector - Remote
A growing technology business is looking for a senior UK Public Sector commercial leader to build and lead its public sector market strategy.
This is a newly created role with real ownership. You'll assess where the business can win, shape the go-to-market strategy, build the right public sector relationships and turn framework access into commercial opportunities.
The Role
- Own the UK Public Sector market strategy across central government, NHS, local government, police, MOD and other priority markets.
- Map and prioritise the public sector framework landscape, identifying where the business should invest and compete.
- Own the commercial strategy around key frameworks and help identify and pursue new ones.
- Build relationships with CCS, procurement teams, public sector buyers and strategic partners before opportunities reach tender.
- Identify, develop and close strategic commercial opportunities.
- Work with sales, pre-sales, product, legal, finance and operations to turn market requirements into compelling propositions.
- Build partnerships with integrators, technology providers and service providers to create new routes into the public sector.
- Provide senior leadership with clear recommendations on market opportunity, investment and commercial priorities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
