Location: Head Office, Ammanford
Are you a commercially driven relationship builder with experience working within the public sector? We’re looking for a proactive Public Sector Manager to join our team and help drive growth, secure new opportunities, and strengthen relationships across our public sector customer base.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and secure new public sector opportunities through procurement portals, frameworks, and tender opportunities.
- Build and develop strong relationships with local authorities, housing associations, NHS organisations, education providers, emergency services, and other public sector bodies.
- Manage and retain existing framework agreements while supporting future re-tender opportunities.
- Coordinate tender submissions and work closely with internal departments to ensure successful bid outcomes.
- Develop strategic account plans to maximise sales growth and profitability.
- Create and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities, tracking progress and forecasting future business.
- Work closely with branch teams, suppliers, and colleagues across the business to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Attend customer meetings, industry events, supplier visits, and trade shows when required.
- Analyse performance, monitor KPIs, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support the growth of the Public Sector Department as a key point of contact for customers and stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in Public Sector, Business Development, Key Account Management, or Sales Management.
- A strong understanding of public sector procurement processes, frameworks, and tendering procedures.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to identify profitable opportunities and protect margin.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Experience within the builders' merchant, construction materials, or wider construction industry would be advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A self-motivated and results-driven approach with the ability to work independently.

Hours of work
An average of 38.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7.30am – 4.30pm.
