We're looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer in Public Services to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to use your professional experience to prepare students for rewarding careers across the uniformed public services, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and resilience needed to succeed.
Whether you're an experienced lecturer or looking to move into teaching from industry, we'd love to hear from you. If you're new to education, we'll support you to gain your teaching qualification while you build a rewarding career in Further Education.
What you'll do:
- Deliver engaging teaching across Levels 1-5, with a primary focus on the BTEC Level 3 Public Services programme.
- Teach a broad curriculum covering topics such as leadership, discipline, citizenship, behaviour, fitness and preparation for careers within the uniformed public services.
- Plan and deliver high-quality learning that inspires students to achieve their full potential.
- Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate student records.
- Act as a personal tutor, supporting students' academic progress, wellbeing and future aspirations.
- Organise and contribute to enrichment activities, employer engagement and educational visits that enhance the learner experience.
- Build strong links with employers and external organisations to enrich curriculum delivery.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement across the department.
- Take on course leadership responsibilities where appropriate, depending on experience.

What we're looking for:
- A degree in a relevant subject area or significant vocational experience within the public services sector.
- Professional experience within the emergency services, armed forces or a related public service environment.
- A recognised Level 5 teaching qualification, be working towards one, or be willing to achieve one with the College's support.
- Level 2 English, Maths and ICT qualifications (or a willingness to achieve these within an agreed timeframe).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to motivate, challenge and inspire learners from a wide range of backgrounds.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with a passion for helping young people achieve their ambitions.
- A commitment to equality, inclusion and safeguarding.
