PUBLIC SPACES SERVICE MANAGER

About the Role
As the Public Spaces Service Manager at Rhondda Cynon Taf CBC, you will play a pivotal role in managing the delivery of essential frontline services that directly impact the quality of life for residents. With a focus on Parks and Street Cleansing, you will strategically lead and oversee all aspects of the Public Spaces Service, whilst at the same time assisting the Head of Streetcare Services in ensuring operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
We are seeking a highly motivated and professional individual with excellent management skills, a keen eye for detail and relevant experience in the leadership of frontline staff. With strong operational experience, the successful candidate will be instrumental in managing a team that ensures the Council has Streetscapes and Parks that the residents of Rhondda Cynon Taf can be proud of.

Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Head of Streetcare Services, you will be responsible for taking the direct lead for the Service, including the Operations Manager and team of Area Managers, and ensuring high service levels are maintained and resident needs are met.
- Strategic Leadership: Lead and oversee all aspects of the Public Spaces Service, focusing on Parks and Street Cleansing.
- Team Management: Manage a team to ensure operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Collaboration: Work alongside all levels within the council including Elected Members, Trade Unions, and other senior managers.
Requirements
- Strong organisational skills
- Innovation and drive to succeed
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of Street Cleansing / Parks operations
- Ability to deal with multiple competing work priorities in a safety critical working environment
Location
You will be based within the Council’s Environmental Services division at Tŷ Glantaf, Unit B23, Taffs Fall Rd, Treforest Industrial Estate, Pontypridd.
