Job Description
Programme Eligibility
To join one of our 12-month Internships you must meet one of the following criteria:
- You’re currently an undergraduate studying at University and returning to full time education in Autumn 2028.
- You’re looking to gain work experience after completing your A-Levels, an equivalent course or an Apprenticeship.
Additionally, you must also:
- Be eligible to work in the UK without restriction for the duration of the internship from Monday 5th July 2027 – Friday 21st July 2028.
- Be able to work in NBCUniversal's Central London office on-site four days per week.

What will I be doing?
Universal Pictures International are responsible for the strategic release of all studio, Blumhouse, Illumination, DreamWorks, Focus and Working Title films.
As a Publicity Intern you will be supporting a fast-paced team to facilitate and deliver innovative film campaigns, whilst also developing your own skills and knowledge to help you progress within the industry.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing day-to-day support across all publicity activity for theatrical film releases, including coordinating with publicity leads, agencies, distributors, and industry partners to deliver campaigns, talent tours, press events, screenings, and special projects.
- Supporting the planning and execution of junkets, media events, talent visits, experiential activations, premieres, and press screenings, including logistics such as travel, accommodation, visas, couriers, venue coordination, guest management, screening check-ins, embargo forms, and on-the-ground event support.
- Acting as a central coordination point for the publicity team by managing calendars, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, booking meeting rooms and AV, maintaining distribution lists, and ensuring key internal documents, trackers, databases, and reporting tools are kept accurate and up to date.
- Managing screening processes, including liaising with industry partners to schedule screenings, coordinating invitations and screening links, tracking reactions, maintaining guest and press databases, and documenting campaign outcomes.
- Supporting budget management and financial administration by raising purchase orders, setting up vendors, tracking costs, processing expenses, resolving billing queries, and maintaining publicity budget trackers.
- Assisting with the creation and distribution of publicity materials, presentations, campaign reports, reviews round-ups, reaction memos, and publicity assets.
- Conducting research, monitoring industry trends and digital innovations, tracking media coverage and social conversation, and contributing insights and ideas during campaign brainstorms and strategic planning sessions.
- Providing general administrative and operational support to the publicity team, including coordinating team inputs on key projects, ordering equipment and supplies, and assisting with ad hoc departmental initiatives as required.

What will I learn from this opportunity?
- Gain first-hand experience of how a high-performing global entertainment company operates, while developing a comprehensive understanding of the theatrical film industry, the media landscape, and the role publicity plays within a film’s overall marketing strategy.
- Develop a practical understanding of how integrated 360° film marketing campaigns are planned and executed, working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Learn how strategic theatrical publicity campaigns are delivered from concept to execution, including title launches, trailer debuts, set visits, content days, junkets, publicity tours, influencer activations, premieres and other key campaign moments.
- Build knowledge of how publicity teams collaborate within the wider marketing function, gaining insight into the responsibilities, objectives and workflows of different departments involved in a film release.
- Develop an understanding of the similarities, differences and nuances across EMEA markets, learning how publicity strategies and media approaches are tailored to meet the needs of individual territories (EMEA role specific).
- Acquire valuable skills and hands-on experience in publicity, marketing, project coordination and campaign delivery, providing a strong foundation for a future career in entertainment marketing and communications.
Qualifications
What do I need to bring to the role?
- A highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented team player with strong administrative, interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building effective relationships and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.
- A confident self-starter who demonstrates initiative, learns quickly, works effectively both independently and collaboratively, and is willing to take a hands-on approach to getting things done.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, with excellent IT and organisational skills.
- A strong interest in film, entertainment and media, with a broad awareness of the UK media landscape, social media platforms and influencer culture, and the ability to provide informed feedback on content creators and digital opportunities.
- Resilient, enthusiastic and positive, with the ability to remain calm under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute creatively to team discussions and brainstorming sessions.
