Plumbing and Heating Engineer

Salary: A GBP 35,000 - A GBP 40,000 dependent on experience

Location: Wetherby-based, with travel as part of the role

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday - no weekends

Company van and fuel card provided

We are looking for an experienced Plumbing and Heating Engineer to join a small, established team carrying out domestic work across a varied customer base.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for someone with strong practical plumbing experience who enjoys working independently, providing a high standard of workmanship and delivering excellent customer service.

Plumbing experience is essential for the role, however electrical experience is not required. Gas Safe experience or registration would be particularly desirable.

The role does involve regular travel, but driving is shared across the team and overnight stays are very rare, typically only around 2-3 nights per year.

The Role

Working as part of a small team, you will carry out plumbing and heating work within domestic properties, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Carrying out plumbing and heating work within domestic properties
  • Installing, maintaining, servicing and repairing heating and hot water systems
  • Diagnosing faults and identifying appropriate solutions
  • Completing planned and reactive work
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
  • Providing a professional and friendly service to customers in their homes
  • Completing relevant paperwork and job records accurately
  • Working closely with other engineers and the wider team
  • Travelling to customer properties as required

The position involves a significant amount of travel, averaging approximately 30,000 business miles per year. Driving is shared between engineers within the team, and a company van and fuel card are provided.

Overnight working is very limited, with typically only 2-3 overnight stays required across the whole year.

What We're Looking For

You Will Need

  • Strong practical plumbing experience: This is essential
  • Previous experience working within domestic properties
  • Good knowledge of plumbing and heating systems
  • The ability to diagnose faults and resolve problems effectively
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • A professional and reliable approach to your work
