The Company:

Riada Resourcing is recruiting on behalf of an award-winning organisation operating within the engineering and infrastructure sector. With a strong presence across the UK and Ireland and an impressive portfolio of projects, our client has built a reputation for quality, innovation and technical expertise. As the business continues to grow, they are seeking a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their finance team and support the efficient running of day-to-day financial operations.

The Role:

As Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will play a key role within a busy finance department, ensuring supplier accounts are maintained accurately and invoices are processed efficiently. Working closely with suppliers and internal departments, you will help support the smooth operation of the purchase ledger function while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and maintaining supplier accounts
  • Matching supplier invoices to purchase orders
  • Processing a high volume of invoices accurately and within agreed timescales
  • Assisting with payment runs
  • Completing monthly supplier reconciliations and reviewing statements
  • Managing supplier queries and resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
  • Supporting month-end and year-end finance processes
  • Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function
  • Providing general administrative support to the wider finance team as required

The Person

  • Previous experience within a Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable or similar finance role
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise with suppliers and colleagues at all levels
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
