Purchase Ledger Clerk (20-25 hours per week, Fixed Term Contract (FTC) / internal secondment opportunity for 9 months)
Location: Contractual base Salvus House, Durham with hybrid working opportunities
Salary Range from: £25,278 (pro rata) plus a discretionary bonus potential of up to 8% of annual salary
Job Level: D
Reporting to: Finance Manager

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL
This is a great opportunity to join Wave's finance team and be at the heart of keeping the business running smoothly behind the scenes. You'll look after supplier payments, maintain accurate financial records, support key financial controls, and help make sure processes are followed correctly across the business.
It's a varied role that combines accounts payable, reconciliations, system administration, and problem-solving, giving you the chance to work with colleagues from different teams and build a strong understanding of how the business operates.
If you're someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in accurate processing, has a keen eye for detail, and likes finding ways to make processes work better, you'll fit right in.
WHAT WILL YOUR TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?
- Processing purchase invoices and keeping the Purchase Ledger up to date.
- Reconciling supplier statements and dealing with supplier queries.
- Preparing wholesale and BACS payment files in line with requirements and deadlines.
- Managing the purchase ledger inbox, responding to queries and ensuring requests are dealt with promptly.
- Supporting the P2P system, including approval routes, purchase orders, user accounts, and setting up new suppliers.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- Experience in finance, accounts payable, or an admin role within finance, with a keen eye for detail.
- Good understanding of financial processes and controls, with a focus on doing things the right way.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence using finance or accounting systems.
- Well organised, able to manage priorities, and comfortable working to deadlines.
- Great communication skills and able to build positive relationships across the business.
- Proactive, curious, and eager to learn and improve processes.
