Company Description

The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to raising standards and building trust in the construction industry. Focused on respecting the community, caring for the environment, and valuing the workforce, the Scheme operates through a voluntary Code of Considerate Practice to encourage best practices beyond legal requirements. Construction sites, companies, and suppliers register to commit to improving their performance and creating positive outcomes for the public, the workforce, and the environment. The organisation serves as a resource for contractors, suppliers, clients, and the public in ensuring high construction standards and addressing concerns about construction activities.

Job Purpose

Assist the Accounting department with data entry, processing, and recording transactions in an accurate and timely manner. This is a temporary assignment for a fixed term contract of [3 months] which is expected to complete on 15 January 2027.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining CCS Sales Ledger
  • Invoice processing to include site and company registrations, scheme products, scheme initiatives, monitor activities and other income as required
  • Raise credit note as refunds as requested
  • Record and reconcile payments made to include via cheque, BACs, and credit card
  • Maintaining CCS Purchase Ledger
  • Record invoices ensuring matched against purchase orders and/or appropriate authorisation
  • Prepare payment runs as required and send remittances
  • Record credit card payments and reconcile statements
  • Processing expense requests
  • Record Monitor’s invoices ensuring they are marked on database
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Nominal Ledger and Bank Reconciliation
    • Journal entry
    • Weekly bank reconciliation
  • Sundry
    • Liaising with third party providers, clients, and suppliers
    • Provide services to related schemes as per services agreement
    • Answering telephone queries and general administration
    • Ensure databases and systems updated as appropriate

Essential Skills & Experience

Experience

  • Previous accounts and purchase ledger experience
  • Ideally experience of Salesforce
