Purchase Ledger Controller

📍 Leeds – Office Based
🕒 Full Time
📅 7-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Moda in Pelle is looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Controller to join our Finance team at our Head Office in Leeds on a 7-month fixed-term contract.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong purchase ledger experience who enjoys working in a busy finance environment and is confident managing supplier accounts, invoices, payment runs and reconciliations.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager and the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date purchase ledger for our non-stock costs and helping ensure invoices, expenses and supplier accounts are processed accurately and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing supplier invoices, credit notes and approved expenses
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and relevant approvals
  • Investigating and resolving invoice, coding, VAT and supplier account queries
  • Maintaining accurate supplier records and reconciling supplier statements
  • Preparing the weekly non-stock supplier payment run
  • Processing and allocating authorised supplier payments
  • Managing finance records relating to company cards and employee expenses
  • Processing overhead invoices including freight, duty, import VAT, rent, rates, utilities and insurance
  • Supporting month-end reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
  • Maintaining clear and accurate finance records and audit trails
  • Providing support across the wider Finance team when required

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has previous purchase ledger experience, ideally within a busy or multi-entity environment
  • Has experience using Sage or a similar accounting system
  • Is confident using Excel
  • Understands VAT, purchase orders, payment controls and supplier reconciliations
  • Has excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Is organised and able to manage a high volume of work
  • Is confident communicating with suppliers and resolving queries
  • Can work effectively to weekly and monthly deadlines
