About the role:
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Purchasing Assistant to support our Procurement team in the administration of ensuring materials, plant, equipment and services are ordered accurately and delivered on time to our projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has an interest in procurement, supply chain, construction, engineering or plant operations.
The role will focus on supporting purchasing activities, maintaining accurate records, liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and helping to ensure the smooth running of the procurement function.

- Raising and processing purchase orders in line with company procedures.
- Obtaining supplier quotations and assisting with price comparisons.
- Liaising with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability and delivery schedules.
- Maintaining accurate procurement records, files and databases.
- Assisting with the set-up and maintenance of supplier information.
- Resolving routine supplier and invoice queries.
- Ensuring documentation is completed and retained in accordance with company procedures.
- Supporting compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Providing general administrative support to the Procurement function as required.
What We're Looking For

Essential
- Previous experience in an administration, purchasing support or office-based role.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks.
- Accurate data entry and record-keeping skills.
- A proactive and positive approach to work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing or plant hire environments.
- Previous experience using purchasing, procurement or ERP systems.
- Understanding of procurement or supply chain processes.
