Full Time Purchasing Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full Time Purchasing Assistant.
The Purchasing Assistant will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of stock management and procurement across all depots in a fast-paced environment. This position involves monitoring stock movements, coordinating stock transfers to fulfil customer orders, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring accurate and timely system updates.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Sales and Warehouse teams to resolve stock issues quickly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and communication.
Responsibilities:
- Stock Control & Order Management: Monitor stock levels across depots, coordinate transfers, and ensure timely fulfilment of customer orders.
- Supplier & Internal Coordination: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams, reviewing orders, checking supplier documents, and resolving delivery or stock issues.
- Sales Support: Work closely with the Sales department to provide accurate stock information, update out-of-stock items, and assist with product data for new lines.
- Reporting & Systems: Update systems with order details and stock movements, assist with reports, and support annual stock takes.
- Procurement & Supplies: Review and order office, warehouse, and operational supplies as required to ensure smooth business operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Investigate stock discrepancies, contribute to process efficiency, and perform other role-related tasks as needed.

Requirements:
- Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or stock control role preferred.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across suppliers and internal teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make sound purchasing decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
