We’re looking for an experienced, talented Purchasing Manager with an engineering background, for one of our clients in Greater Manchester.
The business is an exceptional global engineering company with a strong heritage and an established position as a global market leader.

About You
- You’ll have proven purchasing or procurement management experience within engineering.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with experience managing complex supply chains.
- CIPS/MCIPS qualification or equivalent professional standard.
- Engineering qualification or strong technical aptitude, including the ability to read engineering drawings.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems, ideally SAP.
- Experience managing and developing a purchasing team.
- Willingness to undertake occasional overseas travel.

About the Job
- Lead strategic and operational purchasing activity across the site.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with wider business objectives.
- Manage the purchasing budget, supplier relationships and high-value contract negotiations.
- Drive cost savings, continuous improvement and supply chain resilience.
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality and Finance to ensure material availability.
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of six direct reports.
