Purchasing Manager - FMCG Business

A FMCG business is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join their team and play a pivotal role in shaping procurement strategies. This role is 3 days on-site and 2 WFH.

What You'll Do:

As a Purchasing Manager based in Bolton, you will be entrusted with overseeing the entire procurement function for the organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve:

  • Developing and implementing purchasing strategies that align with organisational objectives.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Monitoring market trends and analysing supplier performance data to inform decision-making processes.
  • Collaborating closely with internal departments such as finance, operations, and production to understand requirements, forecast demand, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Managing the end-to-end procurement process.
  • Evaluating existing suppliers regularly by conducting performance reviews.

What You Bring:

The ideal candidate for the Purchasing Manager position brings:

  • Experience in purchasing and / or procurement within a FMCG environment.
  • Strong organisational, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • An analytical mindset and excellent attention to detail.
  • Managerial experience which fosters a collaborative and efficient workplace environment for a team.
  • Strong Excel skills, ideally you will also have experience using SAP.
