Your Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Purchasing & Planning Operations Manager to lead our day-to-day purchasing and planning operations within our UK Supply Chain team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of procurement and planning activities across our Group and Third-Party product portfolios. As a key member of the UK Supply Chain Leadership Team, you will lead high-performing teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure operational excellence across purchasing, planning, supplier management, and P2P processes.

Working Hours
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday – Friday
- Hybrid working

- Thorncliffe Park, Sheffield, S35 2PW
- Just off Junction 35A of the M1, with free on-site parking available.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Leading, coaching, and developing Purchasing Supervisors, Purchasing Teams, and Planning Teams to drive performance and capability growth.
- Overseeing end-to-end purchasing operations, including purchase order management, urgent orders, backorders, and new product launches.
- Acting as deputy to the Senior Supply Chain Manager and supporting operational leadership across Supply Chain Management functions.
- Supporting planning activities across local production sites and outsourced facilities to ensure effective supply of materials.
- Maintaining strong governance across Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and data accuracy.
- Supporting S&OP processes through the provision of purchasing insights, supply risk analysis, and performance reporting.
- Leading continuous improvement and supply chain transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and performance.
What You Need To Succeed
- Proven operational purchasing or procurement leadership experience within a complex supply chain environment.
- Strong understanding of Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes and procurement best practice.
- Demonstrable people management experience with a passion for coaching and developing teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret performance and supply chain data.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
- A proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused mindset.
- Experience utilising S&OP processes to drive effective inventory management, improve forecast accuracy, and ensure product availability to support NHS hospitals and customers.
