Job Purpose

The Purchasing & Supply Chain Co-ordinator supports the smooth running of all purchasing and inbound logistics activities. The role ensures that goods, materials, and components are ordered, tracked, and received accurately and on time to meet production and operational needs. Acting as the main liaison between suppliers and internal departments, this position helps maintain efficient supply chain processes and stock control across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchase orders and manage supplier confirmations, ensuring accuracy of pricing, lead times, and quantities.
  • Coordinate inbound deliveries, liaising with freight partners and warehouse teams to ensure timely receipt of goods.
  • Maintain supplier information, purchase records, and stock levels within the ERP system.
  • Reconcile delivery notes, invoices, and supplier statements, liaising with Accounts to resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor stock levels and support production planning to prevent shortages.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, addressing performance or delivery issues as required.
  • Support cost optimisation through supplier comparison and sourcing alternatives.
  • Assist with import/export documentation and compliance.
  • Provide regular reporting on supplier performance and material availability.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Administration, Warehouse, and Production teams to align inbound and outbound flows.

Education and Experience

  • Previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, or logistics coordination (manufacturing or automotive environment preferred).
  • Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain principles.
  • Competent in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP systems desirable.
  • Knowledge of import/export and customs procedures advantageous.
