Are you a customer-focused, organised administrator with excellent attention to detail and a passion for delivering great service? We are seeking a Purchasing Support Officer to join our Finance Department at Nottinghamshire Police.
What you'll do
- Provide a customer-focused procurement support service, responding to enquiries and resolving requests efficiently.
- Process orders for goods and services through the Force financial system.
- Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems in line with policies and procedures.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors and colleagues regarding orders, invoices and payment queries.
- Monitor outstanding orders and support timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Manage and reconcile petty cash and Force credit card transactions.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time.
- Contribute to departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
- Prioritise workloads effectively while maintaining high standards of customer service.

What We’re Looking For
- Experience working in a customer-focused administrative environment.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and processing financial or procurement transactions.
- Knowledge of computerised accounting systems, spreadsheets and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of purchasing, sales ledger or financial administration processes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
- Understanding of data protection and information management requirements.
