Role Description
The Pure Collection Knitwear Buyer is a full-time, on-site role based in Burgess Hill, responsible for planning and purchasing knitwear ranges that reflect the brand’s premium positioning and customer needs. The role involves building and maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating cost and terms, and ensuring quality, margin, and delivery requirements are met. Day-to-day tasks include range planning, reviewing sales performance, managing stock levels, and identifying opportunities to refresh and extend the knitwear offer. The Buyer collaborates closely with design, merchandising, and marketing teams to align product selection with brand strategy, seasonal trends, and commercial targets. This role also requires ongoing market and competitor analysis to keep Pure Collection’s knitwear assortment competitive and appealing to over-50s customers.

Qualifications

- Experience as a Buyer or Assistant Buyer in knitwear, apparel, or fashion, with strong range planning and product selection skills.
- Proficiency in supplier management, cost negotiation, and contract terms to achieve margin and quality targets.
- Strong analytical skills, including sales performance review, forecasting, and stock management using relevant systems and tools.
- Knowledge of knitwear construction, yarns, fabric qualities, and production lead times, ideally within premium or cashmere-focused collections.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with design, merchandising, and marketing teams in a cross-functional environment.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple seasons, critical paths, and product timelines.
- Awareness of fashion trends and the over-50s market, with a customer-focused approach to range building and fit considerations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with buying or merchandising systems; experience in multi-brand retail is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Burgess Hill on a full-time basis and travel to suppliers or other UK offices when required.
