Photon Energy PV Installer Electrician Opportunity

Photon Energy is seeking an experienced PV Installer Electrician to join our growing team across Yorkshire. In this role, you will lead the installation, testing, and commissioning of commercial solar PV systems, delivering high-quality projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Requirements

  • Qualified electrician with relevant NVQ/Level 3 electrical qualification.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential).
  • Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent desirable).
  • Solar PV installation qualification/experience (e.g. Level 3 Award in Solar PV or equivalent).
  • Strong experience installing commercial PV systems.
  • Confident reading drawings and setting out installations.
  • Able to test, commission and fault-find PV systems independently.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and site risk management.
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • CSCS/ECS card and full UK driving licence.
  • Enthusiasm for mentoring and progressing junior installers.

  • Install, test, commission, and fault-find commercial solar PV systems.
  • Lead and support a small installation team, ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all installations comply with design specifications, BS7671, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.
  • Conduct electrical testing and complete commissioning and installation documentation.
  • Liaise effectively with customers, site managers, and other contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Identify and resolve technical and quality issues on site.
  • Support and mentor junior team members and new starters.
  • Promote a strong health & safety culture and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor project progress, site readiness, and materials required for installation.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working order.
