About the Company
Our client is a specialist electrical EPC contractor delivering high-quality solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across the UK. Our client has a growing portfolio of utility-scale solar farms and grid-scale storage installations, they are committed to driving the UK's transition to clean energy through fast, efficient, and sustainable project delivery.
The Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Solar Electrical Engineer to join their growing field team. You will play a hands-on role in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of utility-scale solar PV and BESS systems. Working across active project sites, you will be part of a close-knit, collaborative team that takes pride in delivering high standards on every project.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, testing, and commissioning of solar PV systems including panels, string inverters, central inverters, and associated electrical infrastructure
- Cable laying, termination, and containment across utility-scale solar farm sites
- Electrical installation and support on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects
- Fault-finding, diagnostics, and resolution on PV and BESS systems
- Completing electrical test certificates, site documentation, and handover packs to required standards
- Liaising with Project Managers and site teams to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to specification
- Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental requirements on site

Requirements
- Proven experience working on solar PV farm projects (utility-scale preferred)
- Hands-on cable laying, inverter installation, and DC/AC electrical works experience
- Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds 2360 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- Valid CSCS/ECS card
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to travel to sites UK-wide and stay away from home when required

Desirable:
- Experience with BESS installations
- Knowledge of SCADA or remote monitoring systems
- SSSTS or SMSTS site safety qualification
