Job Opportunity: Training CWP Posts in West London Trust
We are excited to announce 11 training CWP posts in West London Trust across Hammersmith and Fulham, Hounslow, and Ealing Community CAMHS and Mental Health Support Teams. The purpose of the role is to provide early intervention by way of Guided Self Help (GSH) for children and young people experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties, especially those who would not normally meet the threshold or engage with CAMHS.
Key Responsibilities
- Work towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Child and Young Person’s Psychological Wellbeing Practice at Kings College London (KCL).
- Work in clinic under the supervision of a CWP Supervisor.
- Collaborate with specialist Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) CAMHS teams.
- Work within community settings and within schools.
Training Program
The training programme is part of the Children and Young Persons Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP-IAPT). The aim of the programme is to provide evidence-based treatment's that are brief, low in intensity for mild to moderate emotional and behavioural difficulties in children and young people.

Training Details
- The post holder will undertake training at Kings College London alongside working in service.
- They will be taught to deliver evidence-based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
- The post holder will use their newly developed skills to support children and young people who are referred into the service and trainees will receive supervision to support their professional development.

Training and Service Experience
- The training and service experience will equip the post holder with the necessary knowledge, attitude, and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value-driven service.
- The post holder will attend all university-based taught and Onsite Protected Learning Time required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum.
- The post holder will work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.
Start Date
- Applicants will need to be ready to start work in early/mid-January 2027.
- Posts cannot be offered to candidates unless they can guarantee this start date.
Application Requirements
- Shortlisted candidates will also need to submit an application form to KCL for a place on the Diploma in Child Wellbeing Practice.
