About the Role
We are excited to announce 11 training CWP posts in West London Trust across Hammersmith and Fulham, Hounslow and Ealing Community CAMHS and Mental Health Support Teams. The purpose of the role is to provide early intervention by way of Guided Self Help (GSH) for children and young people experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties especially those who would not normally meet the threshold or engage with CAMHS.
Responsibilities
- Work towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Child and Young Person’s Psychological Wellbeing Practice at Kings College London (KCL)
- Work in clinic under the supervision of a CWP Supervisor
- Close links with the specialist Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) CAMHS teams as well as working within community settings and within schools
- Provide evidence-based treatment’s that are brief, low in intensity for mild to moderate emotional and behavioural difficulties in children and young people
Training and Development
The training programme is part of the Children and Young Persons Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP-IAPT). The aim of the programme is to provide evidence-based treatment’s that are brief, low in intensity for mild to moderate emotional and behavioural difficulties in children and young people.

- The post holder will undertake training at Kings College London alongside working in service for [service]
- They will be taught to deliver evidence based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties
- The post holder will use their newly developed skills to support children and young people who are referred into the service and trainees will receive supervision to support their professional development
Requirements
- The post holder will attend all university based taught and Onsite Protected Learning Time required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills
- Applicants will need to be ready to start work in early/mid-January 2027 and posts cannot be offered to candidates unless they can guarantee this start date
- Shortlisted candidates will also need to submit an application form to KCL for a place on the Diploma in Child Wellbeing Practice
