Across Ireland’s power generation sector and the fast-growing data centre market, Emerson Power and Water Solutions (PWS) is the control, automation, and optimisation layer - ensuring power is generated, balanced, and delivered reliably across conventional power plants, renewable assets, and data centre complexes alike.

We are seeking a high-impact PWS Business Development Manager to drive sales of automation systems within the power generation and data centre sectors throughout Ireland. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of industrial automation technologies and the local power and data centre market, as well as a proven ability to manage key accounts, build relationships, and successfully navigate complex sales cycles. This is a quota-carrying, commercially led role: the successful candidate will identify, shape, position and close complex, high-value infrastructure and power management deals, acting as the commercial and solution lead throughout large, multi-stakeholder sales cycles. You will develop and execute solution-driven account strategies that win orders in new business, while implementing and continuously improving the local PWS sales strategy across your region.

Success is measured on orders, pipeline generation, and forecast accuracy.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Own and drive orders and revenue growth for power and data centre solutions across a defined set of accounts, carrying an individual quota
  • Identify, shape, position and close complex, high-value infrastructure and power management deals, acting as the commercial and solution lead throughout large, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Develop and execute solution-driven account strategies to win new logos, supported by structured account plans across power utilities and generators (gas, hydro, wind) and hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centre customers
  • Build and maintain relationships with key ecosystem influencers - EPCs, M&E consultants, and specifying engineers—to get Emerson PWS specified early in the design phase
  • Lead customer engagements focused on power generation, energy control and automation, BESS, and data centre power and mechanical plant (BMS, cooling), engaging utility, IT, engineering, and procurement stakeholders to align solutions with business and technical outcomes
  • Implement and continuously improve the local PWS sales strategy and tactics across the agreed region, leveraging Emerson's product portfolio
  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and contracts, working with internal commercial, legal, and finance teams to close deals profitably
  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline that maintains healthy coverage against the annual orders target, with accurate forecasting and deal progression maintained in CRM systems
  • Collaborate closely with proposal engineers, delivery teams, and suppliers
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, product management, and global business units to feed back market intelligence and shape the local offering
  • Partner with cross-BU pursuit teams and peers across Emerson business units to align on joint opportunities and present a unified solution that maximises Emerson's chances of winning
  • Represent Emerson PWS at industry events, trade shows, and customer briefings to build brand presence and generate leads
  • Stay ahead of industry trends such as grid modernisation, power-fleet decarbonisation, renewables and energy storage (BESS), AI workloads, energy management, efficiency, sustainability, and edge computing

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
