About The Role
We are seeking a Storage Automation Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, highly available solutions that underpin enterprise-wide storage infrastructure. Your expertise will drive the automation of storage provisioning, monitoring, alerting, auditing, inventory management, capacity planning, and preventive maintenance processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of software development, storage engineering, and infrastructure automation, contributing to the optimization and reliability of our storage environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including vendors and internal stakeholders, to deliver innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support business growth.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with significant experience in storage automation and software development. Key qualifications include:
- Proficiency in Python and/or Perl programming languages, with a solid understanding of SDLC and software engineering best practices.
- Hands-on experience working within Linux / RHEL environments, demonstrating strong troubleshooting skills across operating systems, networks, and storage infrastructure.
- Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise storage technologies such as NFS, CIFS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, SCSI, RAID, NVMe/SSD, and distributed storage solutions.
- Experience with storage automation, provisioning, monitoring, and capacity management tools and processes.
- Technical expertise in IBM GPFS / IBM Storage Scale, along with familiarity with container platforms like Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or GCP, and experience with SQL and object-oriented programming.
- Familiarity with storage vendors such as NetApp, HDS, EMC, Brocade, or Veritas technologies is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of tasks, including:
- Designing and developing highly available, scalable applications that support enterprise storage infrastructure.
- Building automation solutions for storage provisioning, monitoring, alerting, auditing, and inventory management to streamline operations.
- Creating internal applications and tools that seamlessly integrate with enterprise storage platforms, enhancing operational workflows.
- Developing tools to support problem management, preventive maintenance, and capacity planning, ensuring infrastructure stability and performance.
- Collaborating with third-party vendors to architect, integrate, and optimize storage technologies and solutions.
- Supporting storage virtualization, software-defined storage, and distributed or scale-out file systems to meet evolving business needs.
- Developing automation and observability capabilities across large-scale infrastructure environments, promoting proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Troubleshooting complex issues that span operating systems, networks, and storage infrastructure to minimize downtime and ensure service continuity.
- Engaging with internal customers to understand their requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Participating in architecture discussions, contributing to technical standards, and promoting best practices within the team.
