About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join our expanding team at Involved Solutions. This is a pivotal role within our large-scale technology environment, focusing on developing automation solutions, backend services, and tooling that support complex telecoms and network operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Python-based automation frameworks, REST APIs, and web interfaces that enhance operational efficiency across 5G and enterprise platforms.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects involving testing, monitoring, and network automation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including QA, Network Engineering, and DevOps to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable engineering solutions. The position requires a hands-on approach, with a strong emphasis on Python programming, automation, and backend development, utilizing technologies such as Linux, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and various databases. The role is based in Ipswich, with a hybrid working pattern, offering flexibility and the chance to work in a stimulating and innovative environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in Python development, with proven experience in designing and implementing REST APIs. A solid understanding of database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, is essential, along with experience working in Linux environments. Candidates should have a strong grasp of automation scripting, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of telecommunications networks, particularly 4G, 5G, or network automation, will be advantageous. Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with professional experience demonstrating expertise in the required technical areas.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation frameworks and scripts supporting network testing, data processing, and operational workflows.
  • Build RESTful APIs using Flask and FastAPI to facilitate internal services and cross-team integrations.
  • Create lightweight web-based dashboards and interfaces utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Jinja2 templates.
  • Manage and interact with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis for application data, configuration, and testing purposes.
  • Build and maintain Docker and Docker Compose environments for application deployment, testing, and staging.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab to ensure continuous integration and deployment.
  • Automate Linux system tasks using Bash, shell scripting, and cron jobs to streamline operations.
  • Integrate Python applications with telecom network systems and APIs to support automation and network management.
  • Develop automated validation, health checks, and service monitoring capabilities to ensure system reliability.
  • Implement comprehensive logging, monitoring, and error handling strategies across automation services.
  • Collaborate with QA, Network Engineering, and DevOps teams to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions.
  • Support the development of scalable, reliable, and maintainable engineering solutions aligned with organizational goals.
