About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Python Developer (Backend) to join our client's dynamic engineering team on a remote basis, with quarterly planning sessions held in Bristol. This is a fixed-term contract initially lasting six months, with the potential for multi-year extensions based on project success and organizational needs. The primary focus of this role is to contribute to the development of a brand-new service platform centered around CRM-related functionalities. As part of a greenfield initiative, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services that support customer-facing applications and integrate seamlessly within cloud environments.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work on innovative projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and influence architecture decisions that shape the future of the platform. The role requires a proactive, product-minded engineer who is passionate about building robust, scalable, cloud-native applications and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within an agile environment.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and relevant experience, including:
- Significant commercial experience developing backend applications in Python.
- Proven expertise working within AWS cloud environments, with a solid understanding of cloud services and deployment strategies.
- Strong knowledge of database technologies, including PostgreSQL, SQL, and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
- Experience in building and supporting production-grade backend services with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security.
- Hands-on development experience in fast-paced, agile teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a product-oriented approach.
- Effective communication skills, capable of collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of this role include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services using Python to support new platform features.
- Building scalable APIs and event-driven services to facilitate seamless customer interactions.
- Developing and optimizing data solutions within AWS cloud environments to ensure high performance and availability.
- Collaborating with product managers, frontend developers, and engineering teams to deliver innovative platform capabilities.
- Participating in architecture decisions and establishing best practices for service development.
- Supporting automation, continuous integration, and deployment processes to enhance engineering efficiency.
- Engaging actively in Agile ceremonies, fostering a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture.
