Senior Product Engineer (Python & React)
Fully remote
£450 - £500
6 months (good chance of extension)

This is a broad, high-impact engineering role for someone who enjoys working across the full stack, taking ownership of complex product development and helping shape engineering practices across a team.
The opportunity
You’ll be working on core platforms and data products used by thousands of clients helping turn complex data into clear, actionable insights for the people working in education.

- Build and scale front-end and back-end services
- Develop APIs and data-driven product experiences
- Work with Python, React and SQL across the stack
- Design well-architected, scalable and maintainable solutions
- Drive automated testing, quality and reliability
- Lead code reviews and pair programming
- Mentor and support other engineers
- Contribute to technical discussions, workshops and knowledge sharing
- Help improve engineering processes, product quality and delivery
What we're looking for
- Strong commercial software engineering experience
- Excellent Python & React development skills
- Strong SQL and relational database experience
- Full-stack experience, from database through to UI
- Experience designing and building APIs/services
- Strong understanding of engineering principles such as SOLID, DRY, Clean Code and TDD
- Experience working with large-scale or complex systems
- A collaborative approach, with the confidence to mentor and influence others
- An interest in how data and AI/ML can enhance product experiences
