About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Python Developer to join our dynamic team on a hybrid work basis in Sheffield. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation solutions aimed at streamlining database operations. Your expertise will enable the automation of complex workflows, improve operational efficiency, and support the deployment and management of containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the ongoing digital transformation initiatives within the organization.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Python development, with hands-on experience in API creation using frameworks such as FastAPI. A solid understanding of containerization technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, debugging skills, and analytical thinking. Knowledge of database management systems like PostgreSQL or MongoDB, along with experience in enterprise tools and observability platforms, will be advantageous. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Agile methodologies, and secret management tools such as Hashicorp Vault is also preferred. A background working in highly regulated environments, with an understanding of security protocols and software development best practices, will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions to optimize database operations and deployment processes.
- Create and integrate APIs for database management tasks and automate workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues related to scripting, APIs, and containerized environments to ensure seamless operations.
- Containerize applications and services, deploying them using Docker and orchestrating with Kubernetes to ensure scalability and reliability.
- Manage and administer Kubernetes resources, including Pods, Ingress, Services, Secrets, and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices for automation, security, and observability.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities within Agile development cycles.
