About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Python Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team on a 6-month contract basis. This role offers a hybrid working model, primarily remote with occasional travel to our offices in Leeds or London. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex web applications that support critical government projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions, employing your expertise in both backend and frontend development. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in full stack development with proven experience in Python and web frameworks such as Flask and Django. A solid understanding of frontend technologies including Vue.js, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML is essential. Candidates should have experience working with SQL Server databases, optimizing data storage and retrieval processes, and be familiar with AWS Cloud Services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform. Knowledge of containerization using Docker, serverless architectures, and event-driven programming paradigms is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior developers are important qualities for this role. Candidates with SC Security Clearance will be prioritized, given the nature of the projects.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex applications utilizing Core Python and web frameworks such as Flask and Django, ensuring scalable and maintainable codebases.
- Drive development projects forward by applying best practices in software engineering, including exception handling, data structures, and object-oriented programming (OOP).
- Develop and implement user-friendly front-end interfaces using Vue.js, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML to enhance user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate various software components, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance.
- Mentor junior developers, providing guidance on coding standards, version control via GitHub, and overall development practices.
- Ensure all applications adhere to security standards, including implementing secure coding practices and supporting SC Security clearance requirements.
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure timely delivery of features.
- Work with cloud infrastructure, including deploying applications on AWS, managing serverless components, and utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Perform database development, including designing, optimizing, and maintaining SQL Server databases for efficient data management.
- Implement automated testing strategies, including unit and API testing, to maintain high-quality code and facilitate continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
