About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Python Engineer to join a dynamic data-focused programme on a 3-month contract basis. This role offers hybrid working arrangements and requires active SC clearance. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing the safe use of production data within development environments. The project primarily revolves around data anonymisation, obfuscation, and sanitisation, aiming to establish robust tooling, governance frameworks, and best practices for data management. As a Lead Python Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement solutions that ensure data security and compliance while supporting innovative development processes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Python Engineer, with a strong background in developing scalable and secure applications.
  • Active SC clearance is mandatory, with the ability to obtain or maintain security clearance if necessary.
  • Extensive knowledge of data anonymisation, obfuscation, and sanitisation techniques.
  • Experience leading technical teams or projects, demonstrating strong leadership and mentorship skills.
  • Solid understanding of software development best practices, version control, and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of data anonymisation, obfuscation, and sanitisation tools and processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data governance requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design scalable, secure, and maintainable Python-based applications aligned with project objectives.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Conduct code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold high-quality standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to data security and Python development.
